All different. All equal. All achieving.
With the sun booked and the Year 7 pupils up for the ultimate challenge they boarded the coach and headed for Calshot. With a range of activities planned the pupils where ready to set sail on the Solent and go high on the climbing walls.
On arrival, pupils quickly settled into their new surroundings before having a well-earned lunch but the rest was not long as there was a range of water activities waiting for the afternoon from kayaking to raft building and not to forget ringos on the slopes. With a roast dinner eaten it was time for low ropes and urban orienteering before returning to the accommodation for a much needed rest.
After a good night’s sleep it was up early before going high on the ropes of the climbing walls. No easy challenge!! Whilst some went high the other pupils tested their accuracy on the indoor archery range honing their pinpoint accuracy. A quick lunch was had by all before back on the water for day two of the raft building and kayaking with every pupil setting sail either on a manmade craft or a team built raft. With the sun shining and the water glistening pupils challenged themselves in all aspects of water man ship.
After a well-earned theme night dinner, pupils again hit the low ropes and the urban orienteering before turning in for the night.
Day three and still no rest. After a hearty full English breakfast there was time for a quick photo shoot on the beach before once again going high on the crate stack team task and the team swing. With new found confidence and comfort zones smashed by the day, the pupils then took a climate change from the sun and hit the slopes for skiing and the ringos.
With tired eyes, weary limbs and a celebration thank you with the Calshot Instructors, the pupils headed back to the canteen for a celebration fish ‘n’ chips lunch before boarding the coach for home.
Roll on next year!!
