Design Technology at Samuel Cody is dynamic, exciting and encourages innovative thinking. Throughout Key Stage 3 students have the opportunity to study all areas of Technology including Resistant Materials, Graphic Products, and Electronics. Undertaking many different projects from designing and making Medieval Siege Engines through to learning about Health and Safety, Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacture (CAM). The students will experience using numerous tools, machinery and processes throughout their KS3 in all areas of the Technology curriculum in order to make an informed decision for their Key Stage 4 options.

Students will have an option to study Resistant Materials as an option in KS4.  This will give students a grounding in many of the practical skills in a number of different areas, culminating in a final project in which they will undertake to design and make a product of their choice, as part of their year 11 Entry level course

Students are helped and encouraged to develop a range of different skills that will be transferable to other subjects and relate to industry and future employment.
