Year 7 Trips
Our new Year 7 pupils spent two days out of school recently, getting to know each other and their tutors. On 6th October we went to the Look Out Discovery Centre near Bracknell where pupils enjoyed nearly 100 science and discovery activities. ‘Build It!’ proved to be very popular again [the challenge is to build a scaled down house using giant play bricks.] Staff were very impressed with Year 7 pupils’ knowledge in the ‘Brilliant Brain’ science show.
On the second day out we travelled further afield to Leatherhead and Bockett’s Farm. In the animal barn we learned about the habits of a variety of animals and saw piglets, goats, sheep, zebu and llamas. Pupils enjoyed a tractor ride which took us around the farm to meet more animals, before an animal handling session with rabbits, chickens, guinea pigs and mice. We watched a goat being milked and learned how the milk can be used to feed other animals.
Pig Racing came after lunch and we cheered on the runners we had met earlier in the day. The winner this time was Bradley Piggins!
On both days pupils enjoyed spending pocket money in the gift shops and learned how much they could get for their money.
Although the pupils had been in school for only a few weeks, everyone got on well and they were a credit to the school.
