Year 7 Trips
On the 1st and 2nd of October when the Year 7 pupils had been in school for a month we took them out of school for two days as part of their induction.
First we went to the Look Out Discovery Centre near Bracknell where pupils enjoyed over 90 science and discovery activities. Some of the most popular were the indoor stream and ‘Build It!’ where the challenge was to build a model house using giant play bricks. Pupils showed off their scientific knowledge in ‘The Body Inside Out’ learning session.
After a picnic lunch they chose to return to the exhibits or explore the outdoor fort. On Friday morning we travelled through the countryside to Leatherhead and Bockett’s Farm. Our first stop was the animal barn where we saw pigs, goats, sheep, and llamas. Then a tractor ride took us around the farm to meet more animals, before a handling session with rabbits, chickens and a goat.
Lunchtime was followed by Pig Racing where we cheered on our favourite runners, including Will-I–Ham, Harry Trotter and Bradley Piggins. On both days pupils could browse for gifts in the shop and learned how much they could get for their money. Although the pupils had been in school for only a few weeks, everyone got on and they were a credit to the school.
