Science

In Science we aim to develop positive attitudes to science as an interesting and enjoyable subject. We are concerned that pupils should become competent using scientific processes and that these skills should be learnt in a context which provides meaning and purpose. We want our pupils to develop an awareness of science in the world beyond the classroom. We aim to develop the skills of prediction, hypothesis, manipulation and control of variables, recording results and evaluating evidence alongside exposing pupils to a wide breadth of scientific knowledge. All our pupils will experience a practical approach to scientific concepts as is possible. This is due to our belief that pupils learn most effectively by participation. We hope to cultivate a questioning approach to the pupils’ world and interests within a safe and enjoyable environment.
