Junior Sports Leaders

This is an excellent opportunity for students to develop their leadership skills in a sports setting.

Over two years the students will follow the Go Lead Award which is a great introduction to leadership, giving young people aged 14 and over knowledge of how to organize and lead small games and activities that can be used as a part of uniformed organization, community club or sports club sessions.

The course allows the Young Leader to help learners develop leadership skills such as organization, communication and teamwork, as well as helping to build confidence and self-esteem as they take on responsibility of leading their peers and younger children.

During the course the students will complete several projects including Referee skills, leading a circuit training session, becoming a personal trainer, presenting sports awards, risk assessment and organising festivals for Football, Golf and Orienteering.

This course is ideal for those who are looking to develop skills to work in the fitness or leisure industry
