English is an exciting subject which has the ability to release talent and energy in all areas of the school. We seek to raise the attainment level of every pupil by encouraging them to develop a full range of skills from speaking and listening through to reading and writing. The students will follow a varied and appropriate curriculum where they will study a range of texts and writing techniques, including practical and skills based lessons designed specifically to meet the needs of the individual. Pupils are also encouraged to recognise the appropriate application of these skills and how they may benefit from them in all aspects of their everyday life. Theatre trips and visits throughout the year will provide an opportunity to experience learning outside of the classroom.
